New business at Shobnall
A new boatyard business has opened at Burton-on-Trent’s Shobnall Marina.
Working from the covered dry dock that was once the top lock of the historic Bond End Canal, the new business – called the Bond End Canal Company – takes over from the Burton Boat Company, which relinquished the premises earlier in 2024.
It’s the venture of long-standing boat engineer Edward Strong, who offers most boatyard services. The covered, heated dry dock can hold two narroboats at once, and is ideal for all hull work.
