Shake-up for CRT boat licensing
Boat licensing on Canal & River Trust waterways is set for change following the publication of a report by the three-person commission appointed by the trust to look at the current system.
The commission has engaged with thousands of individuals and organisations via a public online survey, and then meeting with and receiving further submissions from many representative groups.
The 36-recommendation document calls for a complete overhaul of how the trust manages boat movement, enforcement, communication and congestion.
